Green Technology (Building) in Malaysia

Green building is a building designed with green technology that is low-carbon technologies and environmentally friendly nature. This technology is closely related to sustainable development, renewable energy, new energy sourcing and manufacturing equipment or machines that use energy at an optimum level as well as environmentally friendly.
Malaysia is a country that is very concerned about the environment. Commitments and new initiatives are expected to expand the concept of green technology to the extent that enforcement of the relevant act. Application of green technology in the development of energy resources and low water. Green technology also contribute towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, this green building can provide benefits to the residents and the environment.

All three buildings are energy-efficient buildings that were built by the Malaysian government. The buildings are as follows

Green Energy Office (GEO) Building-Pusat Tenaga Malaysia, Bangi

Low Energy Office (LEO) Building-Kementerian Tenaga, Teknologi Hijau dan Air, Putrajaya

Diamond Building-Bangunan Suruhanjaya Tenaga, Putrajaya

Energy-efficient buildings are designed with emphasis on environmentally friendly, such as energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, use of renewable energy and so on. From the physical characteristics of the buildings we can see the use of glass which will allow entry of sunlight, thus reducing the use of lights. This shows the savings in electricity consumption. In addition, heat from the lights can also be reduced by it to contribute to the reduction of global temperatures. The use of green technology in building construction can also save costs less equipment where necessary in maintenance.
In addition, most of the development use fossil fuels that contribute to global warming. Through the concept of green building, the use of fossil fuels can be reduced by using alternative materials such as solar energy (sunlight), water energy, wind energy, hydrogen, and oil palm biomass.
Green technology also provides benefits to the environment as well as enhance and protect ecosystems, improve air and water quality, reduce waste and contaminated materials to protect natural resources. The use of green technology should be encouraged due to the deepening global warming today. While green technology in Malaysia is not advance other countries such as Germany, Japan and other energy-efficient construction of new shows for Malaysia to move more rapidly towards the future.
